This movie, and I employ that word loosely here, carries the title of Day of the Uninteresting mainly in an attempt to lure in fans of George Romero’s “Dreary” films. Day of the Humdrum 2: Contagium, is in no contrivance, shape, or fabricate, associated with the legendary anxiety director, and is said to be a “tribute”. This “tribute” is basically amateurish film making at the very worst, with detestable acting and editing, and the blood and gore effects are incredibly fraudulent looking. The memoir, or lack there of, attempts to tie into the storyline of Romero’s films, but it makes no sense at all. Now I know this crew had cramped to work with, but amateur awe movies of the past, such as the classic unique Immoral Dreary and even the Expressionless Next Door, have proven that you can do a lot with a minute. The fact that Anchor Bay, which has given us gigantic Special Editions of the aforementioned films and even Romero’s Dawn of the Unimaginative and the precise Day of the Monotonous, would release this is mind boggling, but I guess everyone is into cash-in’s these days. All in all, Day of the Unimaginative 2 is beyond awful, and it should definitely be avoided by everyone.
I understanding Ed Wood was tedious. From the abominable sets to even worse acting, this movie is not safe. Since they only had the rights to the name Day of the Dreary, they had to slap a number 2 on the demolish of the title and place this out. But if you are trying to tie this into the Romero films, this would be more like a prequel to Night of the Living Tiring,. There is some okay gore, but most of the special effects are very awful. Don’t bother with this one.
